Episode 6: Dandelions, banners and Bluesfest bruises.

[00:00:00] Goat is playing Bluesfest this year? Um, yeah, it's the Swedish goat. Oh, okay. I was like, why am I just seeing this one now? No. We're just telling people that it's us though. I had some people, when they announced the Bluesfest schedule, we had some people send me messages. They're like, amazing! Congratulations! That's so funny. And I'm just like, oh, thanks man.

[00:00:30] Through all the gleam of the rusty railroad tracks, I jumped the first train back to south.

[00:01:40] Um, we had, um, we had Passenger Princess Friends Days on Parade down from St. Catharines, which was so, I'm so glad that they were able to make it down. Right. And, um, what's the other one? And Girlboy Thing. Girlboy Thing. They're so good. Yeah. They are fantastic. You were saying that one time. It, I, I knew that was Grace's first time seeing it, like Grace from Passenger Princess. That was her first time seeing Girlboy Thing. Mm-hmm.

[00:02:09] And I had told her when we booked the show, like when, cause, cause the original plan was we were gonna have like us and Days on Parade running another show together wherever. And I went, their vibe is a little bit different, but Girlboy Thing is so good and it would be so nice to like have those groups of people together. Mm-hmm. It was so good. Wow.

[00:02:30] But yeah, Girlboy Thing is like, the way Grace explained it was like a mix of Ethyl Cain and The Cure and I thought that that was a good, I thought that that was a good, uh, comparison. Very cool. Um, Cyrus still in that band? Oh yeah. Yeah. Uh, Cyrus and Evie are the two that are leading the charge on that one. And then Adam, Adam from, um, The Hunt Club and also Victor Complex has now joined Girlboy Thing as their drummer. Ooh. So that, boys in a billion bands.

[00:03:00] Well, you know what I mean? You find something you, that were, it's nice to be wanted. It's nice to be needed out there in the world. Um, I was gonna come by, but I got off work late and then I had this existential crisis of, do I want to even exist in a world, in a room full of people tonight? No, that's completely reasonable. And I, I honestly have that a little bit between every, like a little bit before every show. Yeah.

[00:03:25] There was one time, I very recently got diagnosed with ADHD to nobody's surprise. Um, and they have me on Adderall. There was one show, I think it was the show like April 11th, um, where I got to the venue and I knew that I was like in like Adderall come down hours. I knew from the second I walked in and I was like, this is, this is, I've never wanted to be up in a place less in my life right now. I'm losing it. No, literally.

[00:03:53] I was like in the green room playing on my phone, staring at the wall. Cause I was like, I don't want to be around anybody right now. Nobody in particular. Yeah. Just like, I was like, I can't, I can't do this. Yeah. Well, if it was just like in any other event, uh, it'd be one thing, but it was like, it was must've been packed cause it was the 11th year birthday or whatever it was. Oh yeah. That show, that show, it was packed. Yeah. I'd imagine it would be.

[00:04:19] And, uh, reasonably so not, not as much as like the staff battle of the bands that one. Oh yeah. I was going to ask about that one too. You played with the hunt club. Yeah. How'd that go? Yeah. That was really good. I played look upon the heart also played, which are very awesome. This is my second time I've got to see them and I love it. Lene Jones is in sour pussy. Yes. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:04:47] Colleen's in there and, um, Tina Wallace as well. And then Rob, whatever his last name is. Mm hmm. Shout out Rob. And who won? Um. How did it work? There was three bands playing and, but you all worked there. Yeah. Yeah. So like every, um, every band had someone who either does or did work there. Mm hmm.

[00:05:11] Cause, um, Rob Veluso just recently opened a cafe with his partner, Courtney, called Recess Cafe. It's in, um, Portland, Ontario. Oh, okay. Cottage country. Oh, I'm thinking of, have you ever heard of cassette? Yes, I have. Yeah. That's been popping up lately. I haven't been able to check it out yet, but yeah. Anyway, I'm sorry. I interrupted you. No, no, no. That's okay. It's a back and forth conversation. It's not interrupting. Okay. Um, battle of the bands. So. Anyways. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:05:40] So Rob, Look Upon the Heart. So fucking cool. I love that band. Um, it was less of a battle of music and more of a battle of who knows the most about the venue. Oh, okay. Yeah. So. And you, so you would, uh, ask each band with each, each member was asking each other questions about. Yeah. Okay. And then there were like little random ones where it's like, okay, everybody, you, you

[00:06:10] guys have to come up with the name of, I think it's like whoever went, anyone in the room who has like a cousin named, a cousin with the name that you guess, that's a point for each person. Okay. So it was just like random little stuff in there too. I don't know if I explained that well. I think so. I think so. So who? I keep, I said. I don't remember who won. Okay. To be honest. All right.

[00:06:38] Well, y'all won. Yeah. Everybody won. And, um, we raised, I think like a little bit over three grand for Kirby's, um, Kirby's, uh, fund. Yeah. So. That's awesome. Yeah. Kirby is the long time, uh, bar manager. Yeah. At Live on Elgin. Uh, good for her and, uh, good for, uh, good for you guys. Yeah. That's awesome. I think causes are good.

[00:07:03] Uh, you should raise money for things you want, uh, to do, um, well, I suppose, or things that are, that are in need or things that mean something to you. I always. Kirby means so much to so many people. Yeah. Like she's, yeah, it was, it was just a really awesome thing to be able to, uh, contribute to. Mm-hmm. I used to, um, play in a band called hearts and minds and, uh, we played live on Elgin.

[00:07:29] That's probably the band I played at, or like the, what reason that was probably the band that I played with the most at live on Elgin. Yeah. I think I've played with goat like once anyway, or twice, I think. Um, but back in the day, yeah, we used to. Soon to be three times. Soon to be three times. Yeah. We had a, we had a better, uh, I had a better relationship with Kirby then. Yeah. Cause we'd come in and be like, Hey.

[00:07:54] And then when I played, uh, with Allie Pierce last year and Kirby was there and I was like, it'd been forever. Oh yeah. And, but you know, I weren't like we were best friends or anything, but I'm like, Kirby, she's like, Hey. And then we kind of like, yeah. Right. So yeah, it was good to see her and her and John. Um, yeah. Soon to be three. Uh, I think I've announced it. I'm trying my hardest to, to, to announce that show.

[00:08:24] The goat 15 year birthday bash. Yeah. Uh, with, um, lazy brats. Yeah. And Victor complex. Yeah. That is on August 22nd. Uh, it's going to be a big party. Yeah. There will be cake. There will be balloons and other prizes. I'll try to find party hats. Prizes. Uh, and make party hats. Oh, that'd be cool. That'd be fun. Yeah.

[00:08:50] And I've been trying to promote the show, but I'm making this video on cap cut. And it's like, it's a two, it's to a two, it's like to a two minute goat song. And it's like goat 15 years later. And it starts in 2011 and it's all these pictures and all these things. And it's this big, long collage. And I'm constantly adding to it. So I have to adjust it and line it up and all that stuff. Yeah.

[00:09:17] And then I've, I've said I was done like 10 times, but then I'll look at it and I'm like, ah, or I'll go through like my phone and I'll find some old pictures. And I'm like, Oh, I got to put that in. Yeah. Right. And it's like 15 years worth of life and experiences. You try to jam into like two minutes of, so I don't think it'll ever be done. It'll ever be perfect. But as long as it doesn't hurt people's eyes when they watch it and things are jumping around, it's nice and smooth.

[00:09:43] Soon as I get that done, I'll get it all out there so everyone can see it. Yeah. Something I really enjoy doing is either taking like random pictures or like random clips of videos and making them into a lyric video for passenger princess songs. That's really fun. Like, I don't know if you remember when like the hippo mudang was very popular. So it was basically just like this pygmy hippo from some zoo.

[00:10:13] Oh. Who had a major attitude. Yeah. I don't think I remember the name, but I think I remember the whole idea. So, so I made like, I don't remember if it was a lyric video or if it was just like a compilation of like mudang videos, but I made like a, um, that was the hippo's name? Mudang? Mudang. Yeah. Anyways, I took a bunch of little clips. I can show it to you, but I took a bunch of little clips, um, of her. Okay.

[00:10:43] And I put it to Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss by Passenger Princess. Nice. My next, my next goal is to make like a sad edit of Heated Rivalry to the Path. Oh, that sounds right up your alley. Right up my alley. No doubt. I got a banner. Hell yeah. I found a sports shop. Um, just shopping around.

[00:11:10] I've always wanted a banner cause Goat played at, uh, Goat played at the Dom last month and the band, the headliner band, they hung their banner up during their soundcheck and they just kind of left it up, which is fine. But it was a big fucking banner. It took up the entire back wall. It covered that whole, uh, Dominion. Yeah. Uh, mural. So every band had to play in front of that banner and for some reason it didn't bother me that night. But when I was looking at some pictures taken.

[00:11:36] Well, it always bothers me once I'm getting the pictures back, you know, like there was one show I played last year and it was the same thing. Like the headlining band had their banner up in the background and it's like, okay, like I, I get it. It's annoying to put up and take down. But then also it's like people who have never seen me now are going to think that I'm in your band. Yeah. And that's really annoying. Yeah. Or that, yeah. Or you're in that band or that's the name of the band.

[00:12:05] Cause you look at the pictures and it's just like, you're playing in front of this giant mural. Yeah. And it's like, so what's your, I thought your band was called Goat. What's his, I won't say the name of the band. What's this blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, fuck man. So it's, it's, there's, there's going to be no more banner wars. Like I'm just. It gets confusing when like people you actually know come to the show and it's not just someone who like knows you through like the scene or whatever. You know, let's just like put up the banner before you play because it's like, it literally

[00:12:34] is just a piece of material duct tape of the corners and then take it down when you're done. Or that's what I'm going to do with, with my new goat banner. But that band, I'm not going to say their names, but they were causing a bunch of trouble that night. Oh no. Yeah. There's drama. Well, I got yelled at by. What? Yeah. There was like this drink ticket mix up and that we accidentally got double drink tickets. And I guess that headlining band, they were like losing it.

[00:13:03] Where the fuck is our bugger? This is bullshit. And all this shit. It's like, dude, it's like, hang on, hold on. You know, it's just like, it's just just a mix up. So they were yelling at somebody and then somebody was yelling at me and it all turned out. Okay. It was a misunderstanding, but at the next day I sent an email saying, I'm that was clear like three of three members of goat are sober for one thing. Last thing we give a shit about is fucking drink tickets. Yeah. Anyway, so everybody just calm down. Yeah. I agree. Yeah.

[00:13:33] But anyway, whatever. The show was fun and it inspired me to get a banner, which I need to pick up because I put in my order on Monday and today's Wednesday and it's already done. Plug the, plug the maker of the banner. Oh, I will do that. Well, I haven't seen the banner yet. Are they, are they local? Yes. Well, you can cut this part out if you get it and you don't like it. I can. Uh, here we are.

[00:14:00] Uh, the banner was created at Speed Pro Signs Graphic Solutions. Ooh. They're located, um, at 15, 115 35 Ariga, Aruga, Ariga, sorry. Ariga, A-U-R, I-G-A. Nice. Aruga Drive in Ottawa. They're a local company and they were super helpful. And I sent them all the information. Um, and we went back and forth to get the design right.

[00:14:28] Took me a week to order the thing and then it was done in two days. Oh, that's so awesome. Yeah. And we got the GOAT, like link QR code to the link tree right in the bottom corner so people can do it. That's great. Local business plug, local business plug. Yeah. There you go. Um. Gotta do it. And if the banner sucks and I hate it, um, way to go Speed Pro. Anyway. Price was right. There you go. Reasonable pricing. Call up and get an estimate. There you go.

I think, I think for the show, I, my goal is, I don't know, I really like DIY and I like tie dyeing and I like stuff like that because it makes it, everything just a little bit different from each other. Mm-hmm. And I have a little bit of time off in August so I might try to, try to whip up some t-shirts or some tie dyes or bleach dyes, something or others. Victor Complex? Yeah. Birch? Nice.

[00:15:23] Yeah, because, uh, we have some key chains and we have some stickers, but, uh, no shirts yet. Hmm. Just cause I haven't got around to making them. I, I like to make it myself, so. Okay. Yeah, if you have the time and the, and the, uh, the, the, well, the time to do it. Um. Yeah, that's really the only challenge is the time and I mean, I'll probably make like 10 of each size and then when it sells out, it sells out and next year I'll do more. For the last.

[00:15:53] Limited run. Yeah. That's right. Incredibly limited run. I was thinking I might also just like pick up some stuff from Value Village or some other thrift store to get the materials cause I've got some shirts but none that are like good tie-dye in colors. For the last, uh, maybe 10 years or so I've used a drop dead thread out of Cornwall. Nice. Yeah. He just works out of his garage. That's awesome.

[00:16:20] He's got like a big screen press and stuff and he's always been, he's always been great. Yeah. I want to learn screen printing. Maybe that's going to actually be my goal this summer. I was looking at one of them on because on Amazon they have like a single screen printing press thing with the, with the screen, the silk screen, I guess. Yeah. And it was reasonable and I'm like, I could, it's not like the big giant one with like, that looks like the octopus where you're pressing all of them. But if you could figure out if you, if you're doing your own merch, you get that one screen

[00:16:47] press and you figure out how to do it and you just do one shirt at a time. Yeah. It'd be fucking save so much money. And it like, it would be time consuming, but I'd rather like put the, put my own like time and energy into it. And obviously it saves money, but it's also just like a little more personal. Yeah. I like, like when Pink Cloud Summer was a thing I made, like we as a group, we like bleached the shirts and like got the designs the way we wanted it.

[00:17:15] But I like hand painted all, like all of the shirts had a flower on them and, and like the like abbreviation PCS or the words Pink Cloud Summer on it, whatever, whatever it was. We, we did the bleaching as a group and then I hand painted everything else because I had a month to kill. Sure. And I don't know, it's just a little more personal that way. I like it. Well, it seems like you enjoy doing that stuff too. I really do. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:17:42] Cause you're, you're always, uh, you made the poster for the show, which is, which is awesome. I sent it to lazy brats and they love it. And I sent it to the guys in goat. So everyone's happy. Awesome. I'm glad everyone's happy with it. I really liked doing that. I, I made the last round of passenger princess stickers also. Um, I designed our like black metal spoof logo. Um, uh, yeah, I don't know. I just, I just really like doing all that kind of stuff. Mm hmm.

[00:18:15] Positivity break. Positivity break. I recently learned how to make dandelion honey. Oh, that's, that's been my newest creative endeavor. Okay. I don't know if it's, I think it's kind of creative. Where do you get the dandelions on the front lawn? Uh, my backyard. Really? You just get, you pull them out of the lawn and wow. And then I just like rinse them off in the sink. That's crazy. And what, what is, what does it taste like? Um, it tastes like honey.

[00:18:43] It's basically like a vegan honey. Oh. Cause. I guess so. It's not no bees, right? No, no bees. I just like get some dandelions. I rinse them off, make sure there's no bugs on them. And then you basically like make a dandelion and lemon tea. Uh huh. So like you boil it, you let it sit for however long and then you, uh, strain it out and then

[00:19:05] you mix the, the tea with whatever kind of sugar you want and you boil that for however long. Right. Make sure there's no Japanese sewer. We're, yeah, make sure there's no like weird beetles in your, in your. Beetle honey. Then it's not vegan anymore. That's true. I didn't even think of that. Beetle honey. Anyway, but that's cool. But yeah, it's, it's, I want to try doing it with other stuff too.

[00:19:34] Now that I know how to do it, I want to, I want to get more into that kind of stuff. I think, uh, I think finding things to do like hobbies doesn't always have to be like, I'm going to go play pickleball. Yeah. You know what I mean? I don't know how people do things with other people half the time. I'm not a team sports guy. I, I, yeah. Me, I'm going to learn how to, uh, make vegan honey and syrups by myself with no one else involved. That's cool though. You know what I mean? And what if you get really good at it?

[00:20:03] Then you can, you could like make little, make your own little jars and bottles and then you can go to like farmer's markets. I could, I more want to keep it as like a fun thing that I can make for myself or like as a gift for someone. That's cool. I don't really care so much about selling it, but like when, uh, Turning it into a corporation. But, uh, when Cyrus moved out, I gave him a little, little thing of it. Oh, that's good. Just as like a goodbye. That's a nice gift though. And it's unique, you know, it's very, uh, it's very vickler.

[00:20:33] Yeah. Well, I mean, I just like saw some sweet old lady pop up on one of my feeds and I don't know. It spoke to me. I needed, I needed to figure it out for myself. The first time I did it, it was a fucking mess though. I burnt it. So like, I, I would like drip it onto like a plate or something to like see what the consistency was and it just immediately hardened and I went, Oh, that's burnt. Is it like sticky? Like honey?

[00:21:03] It is a crazy. Yeah, it is. Cause you're mixing the like tea with whatever kind of sugar. It depends on like what kind of honey you want. So if you want it to be darker, use brown sugar, lighter. Oh yeah. Cause that'll caramelize almost right. If you cook it down like. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Um, I did golden because I wanted like a kind of like in between and then the longer you boil it for the, the thicker it gets. Do you have a name for it? It's just dandelion honey. Hmm.

[00:21:30] You don't want to, cause it's like, I asked if it's sticky, it could be like Vickler's Stickler Dandelion. Sticky Vicky. Wow. That sounds gross. Vickler's Stickler's Dandelion Honey. Yeah. Get your stocking stuffing stuff for today. That would be an interesting merch item. Yeah, totally. Totally. It's good though. You get the, like the nice little packaging and it'd be like, here you go. That's so true. Okay. I'm going to have to ponder this.

[00:22:00] I also want to like, see if I can use other flowers for it. Just to like, see if it would make a difference. Like I have, I think I was talking to Grace about doing it and she said she really likes like rose water and stuff like that. So I might try like a rose, see what kind of citrus goes with that and figure it out. I think weird things should be on merch tables though. I think that's a great idea. Yeah. One of my goals for over the summer is to work on some new merch for Passenger Princess because we've got a few ideas. Yeah.

[00:22:29] We've got a few ideas. I won't, I won't expose anything, but ideas have been floating around, but we did just get new stickers, which I'm quite proud of. Cool. Um, I have them all priced out, but I want them to be specific, like a, like a limited

The traditional goat man, which is, which is not AI everybody. People look at the goat man. That was actually drawn by our friend Joel, who used to be, um, in the band Balanana. Uh, he drew that up for us. Awesome. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:23:24] And, uh, but now it's just like, people think it's AI, but it's not AI that was, that was made in like 2015. Like nice. Yeah. Hand drawn, hand drawn. Oh, that's so fun. An eight episode series. And it's all based in like the thirties. Yeah. It's still based on kind of Spider-Man. Yeah.

[00:28:20] Well, it is kind of Spider-Man, but like a completely different dimension. Yeah. Different universe Spider-Man. But Nicolas Cage is Spider-Man. He's like in his, he's an older Spider-Man. Yeah. And he's just like- That's so awesome. But he's so Nicolas Cage. He does all these like spider things and stuff. It's, it's super good. And you can watch it in color or you can watch it in black and white. Oh, I love that. That's awesome. Yeah. So it's like Spider-Noir and it's, it's, it's really good. And it's not like, it's, it's a little hokey, but it's- Wow.

And I don't know, Nicolas Cage is just one of those guys who just, he's just good. Like he's good at what he does. He's a little over the top, but- Nah, I, yeah, he's awesome. Mm-hmm. But I, I like blew through it between, um, end of January and like maybe beginning of March. What is it?

[00:29:50] Um, it's a, it's a TV series about a group of high school girls who get like plane crash. Oh. And they don't know where they are. Um, but it goes between the timeline of when they were teenagers and the timeline of, I think it's what, 25 years later when they're adults. Oh. So it goes between like present day and the nineties. Okay. Which is also very cool.

[00:30:17] The soundtrack, it's gotta be one of my favorite soundtracks of like any show that's come out in a very long time. So the modern day part is in the nineties. No, the modern day part is like modern day. Today, but the plane crash was in the nineties? Like the, they were teenagers in the nineties. Cool. Anyways, it's very cool. It's, um, very like Lord of the flies coded kind of. Oh.

[00:30:41] Um, but yeah, there's like stuff, stuff that's happening in their adult lives where it's like, um, there's a lot of like paranoia kind of themes in it. But is it, is it horror? Kind of. Yeah. I would say kind of. Yeah. Like very much here. I'll, I'll, I'll look. Google has been my friend today. Mm hmm. There's a movie I want to see. I think it's a movie.

[00:31:10] It's called back rooms. Yeah. That is that, that movie is I think still in theaters. No. Yeah. I think so. That, but I think that's based off of like a short or like. It's a, based off of a YouTube series. The director is like 17 or something stupid like that. Wow. Um, sorry, not something stupid. That's a very impressive age. We know what you meant. Yeah. Like I, I mean that in an endearing way. Um, but. It looks cool. It looks creepy. Yeah. I, I haven't seen it.

[00:31:40] I'm probably just going to wait until it comes out on streaming. Um, but yeah, it seems very, very cool. Um, yellow jackets. That's what I was looking for. I watched, um, project Hail Mary. How was that? Um, I heard the book is very, very good. Okay. Okay. And then because the book was like a, one of those, uh, those, it was huge.

[00:32:08] It was like a massive, uh, thing. I don't know what you even call that in a bestseller for sure, but it just became the book. Yeah. Um, so they made the movie with, uh, Ryan Gosling where he has to go and save the sun or whatever. And, uh, it's okay, I think, but it's like, it's kind of, it's sci-fi, right? Yeah. And I heard the book is very much based off of like, um, things that like science, like shit that could actually happen.

[00:32:36] And the movie just feels very sci-fi. Okay. Yeah. Like there's an alien, he meets an alien and halfway through you're kind of going, what? You know what I mean? Like, how did they do that so fast? And anyway, but flying around the spaceship and yeah. Yeah. And he's just, he's just like, he's not even an astronaut. He's like a teacher, but he's like a super smart astrophysicist or something that was kind of like disgraced.

[00:33:07] So cause yeah, it was like disgraced. So he had to take a job as like a science teacher at high school. It seems very, like, like it seems just like more fleshed out than the movie was.

Um, but there are parts of, there are parts that they obviously took out like how list that and, um, and Louie were like actually a couple. Like they took that out of the movie. Oh. They like hinted at it kind of, but they took that out of the movie, which understandable

[00:35:32] for the times, but kind of sucked. Um, and they very, they, I like what they did with, um, Claudia's character a lot more in the show. She's a little bit older in the show. Um, is that the little girl? Yes. Okay. Yeah. I saw that movie so long ago. Oh, I love that movie. I just remember Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. Yeah.

[00:36:00] And Gary Oldman was the Dracula, wasn't he? Dracula, Dracula. I don't remember Dracula being in that movie. Interview with a vampire? Oh. Yeah, he was. Wasn't he? I don't recall, but. I might be thinking of something else. Also, Christian Slater as the interviewer. Ah, yes. A young. I always forget about that one. A young strapping Christian Slater. Wasn't, wasn't the, the girl in that, wasn't that, uh. Kirsten Dunst. Yeah. Kirsten Dunst. Just as a little kid.

[00:36:29] But she was like a baby. A baby. A baby. Yeah. She was young. She was like super young. And then she went on to do some things. Yeah. Mm-hmm. She married Jesse Plemons, who's like one of my favorite actors. Nice. Yeah. That's cool. Yeah. Have you seen, um, Civil War? No. Okay. Most of the movie's kind of shitty, but there's this Jesse Plemons part where he. Are you talking about the Captain America movie or just like. No, no. Okay. The movie called Civil War.

And it's a little actiony and far-fetched and stuff, but there's the Jesse Plemons part where they're, the people are on the run trying to escape like the right side or the left. I can't remember what it is. And Jesse Plemons is like a soldier next to this giant pit. Okay. He's in the movie for like 10 minutes, but it's the best part of the movie. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. There's that clip where he's like, what are you?

[00:37:25] And they say, well, we're American. Like all panicked. And he's like, what kind of American? Like it's fucking. No. And he's like super deadpan straight, like. Crazy. Scary as shit. Yeah. Yeah. Intense. It's a good scene. Anyway, he's such a good actor. He played Todd in Breaking Bad too. Okay. Yeah. That's one that I really tried to get into and it just wasn't happening. Yeah. Well. Same with The Walking Dead. I wasn't able to. That's. Walking Dead peaked in the first season and then the rest of it was just shit. Yeah.

And then they wrote, that's why I block people. Yeah. And then they wrote afterwards. It's just like, I won't bother you anymore.

[00:43:07] Oh, it's like, why did you even bother in the first place? Yeah. It's like, I'm sorry you're having like a moment and stuff, but like go for a walk or something. I'm sorry, but I can't fix that. Yeah. Last time I was in a situation like that was the first time I've ever had to block someone on Spotify. On Spotify. Spotify. Weird. Yeah. I don't think I've ever done that. Things got very weird. Yeah. Not cool, man. Not cool. No.

[00:43:35] Don't, um, anything that you expected back from a text, from what you wrote would not make any difference or fix any problems you were having at the time. Yeah. [00:44:02] And then it gets to a point where, Oh, you've made so many like false alarms that actually I can't trust you and need you to go away forever. Yeah. Please. It's like, yeah. It's terrible. Terrible. Yeah. Anyway, um, open door. Great song. Open door. So fun. It's a great song. And it's a bit, it's a very cathartic song to do live too, especially that like screech at the end. Yeah. Um, me and Max did a, uh, a critique of it.

[00:44:32] Yeah. I saw that. It was very, very kind. Yeah. Of, uh, on the Southwood stereo. And, uh, as soon as that's a tough one, that must be a tough one to do live though. Cause there you, you sing like the whole time. This is true. My songs are very wordy. That's good though. My songs are very wordy, but, um, usually I put that one last. I either put it right at the beginning because it's like a quiet, like a quiet couple bars

[00:45:00] and then it gets like right into it or I put it at the end depending kind of on how my voice is feeling. Yeah. All or nothing. Exactly. I dig it. I felt strong.

[00:46:16] I've been practicing, waiting in my bed, hoping that one day you'll be back again. I've been working on all my mindfulness. These shades are black and white, but it all keeps blending in.

[00:46:40] I've been eating a lot of kale and cabbage salad.

[00:49:59] Oh. I find that I'm in summertime when it gets hot. Yeah. I have, I have a love hate relationship with like meat. Yeah. I never used to, I don't know what's going on. Um, but all I want to do is eat like salad and vegetables and I get like those pre-made mixed cabbage and kale, red cabbage, green cabbage all chopped up from farm boy in the pre-washed bags. Yes.

[00:50:26] And I dumped the whole fucking thing into a bowl and then I get an olive oil and apple cider vinegar and some like seasoning and I just make my own dressing and I just sit there and eat the giant bowl of salad. Nice. This is like kind of, people have mixed feelings on this one, but I like to get the like bagged salad kits. Yeah. I get those all the time. They're awesome. Yeah. I used to love the, um, I think it was like the cranberry one. Yeah. Yeah. It was so good.

[00:50:54] There's one they have now that it's like a pizza crunch where it's like, they've got like Parmesan croutons or something like that in there. Oh, it's so good. And sometimes I'll just like, cause I don't eat like red, red, red, red, red, red, red, red meats or anything like that. I'll like cook up some shrimp. Yeah. Um, put some like taco seasoning on the shrimp or whatever, and then just stick it in the salad and there's my protein. Yeah. Yeah. I eat a lot of, uh, well, I shouldn't even say that. I eat a lot of, I try to eat a lot of chicken.

[00:51:24] A lot of the times I just, I go days without eating like meat, but I get protein. Like I have a protein shake in the morning and I have protein like supplement. I have bars. Like that's sometimes I'll go out entire day. I'll work like 12 hours and I've all eat, all I've eaten was like two protein bars and I'll get home and it'll be like 11 o'clock and it'll be just be like, what did I eat today? Yeah. But with the meds that I'm on to the Vyvanse, it's just, it's an appetite suppressant. Yeah. I've heard this. So I can't tell if my blood sugar is low either. Yeah.

[00:51:54] You know that if you don't eat, you get that kind of like, I don't feel that ever. Okay. Ever. Okay. Yeah. So I have the opposite problem where I have to be really careful about like making sure I'm hydrated and like making sure I'm eating stuff. But I also have like issues with my appetite in the summer. My body is very fussy for some reason. Fair enough. Um, so, but, but I do have fainting problems. Oh yes. Uh, Shania Twain. Yes. Shania Twain. I don't know.

[00:52:24] I think I told this story on the podcast before. Yeah. Good one though. Didn't get to see her. Wow. I heard her from the med tent though. Yeah. Are you going to go see, uh, um, are you going to go to Blues Fest this year? I don't think so. I think I'm going to go to City Folk though. Yeah. I like the lineup for City Folk a little bit better. I, I love, I have a very soft spot for like Western Gothic country. Okay. Okay.

[00:52:50] And there's one artist that I love, Amigo the Devil, who I saw him at Blues Fest last year. And, um, he's at City Folk this year. So I'm very, very hyped for that one. Where is, where is City Folk? I don't remember. Yeah. Did they move it? Was it at Lansdowne before? I think so. Cause Lansdowne is like a big construction site right now. Yeah. I wonder where it's going to be. I, that might not even have been. I think it was already announced. Oh. Hold on.

[00:53:19] Um, my friend Katie, she is a unapologetic Limp Bizkit fan. That's so good for her. And I told her, um, about Fifth, how Zayn and those guys. Yeah. Very exciting for them. They're, they're the self-proclaimed biggest Limp Bizkit, Biscuit fans in, in the world. And just as luck would have it, Fifth is on the same day as Limp Bizkit. So every time I go on social media, I see Zayn going 33 days to the biggest gig of my life.

[00:53:49] And I have it from my other friend who says, who sends me like Limp Bizkit memes just to remind. It's at the RA Center this year, which is just down the road from Lansdowne. RA Center. Oh, okay. It's pretty close to here. It's like, uh, up at Heron Road where Billings Bridge is. Oh, that's where like the, uh, X thing. Escapade. Escapade. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. But, uh, yeah. And she asked me, do you want to go to Limp Bizkit with me? And I said, no.

[00:54:18] No, it's like nothing personal. I just don't really want to be in that crowd. That's it. Like that's really what it is for me. It's like, if it was like me and 20 of my buds. Totally. Yeah. I would sit there and I would watch Limp Bizkit and I would have such a good time, but there's, I'm going to choose kindness and not get into my thoughts. I just don't want to be there. Yeah, that's fair. I saw the Woodstock documentary. I'm good. Yeah. Fuck. Yeah. Give me something to break.

I remember, ah, part of it is like the experience I had going to see Rage Against the Machine for Blues Fest.

[00:55:44] Oh yeah, I didn't. Man, that performance, awesome. Yeah. Because it was also right when he like tore his. Oh, he was sitting down on the road case or something. Yeah. He was sitting down performing, but still it was a great performance in my opinion. Like it was, it was really good. The crowd was so like compacted together though, where I was standing, that I was being moved. However, my legs were not moving me. Yeah, that's crazy. I can't tell. And I kept falling.

[00:56:12] I have, I'll have to show you the picture. I have a picture of the bruises I had from getting like trampled on my ankles were crazy. That's crazy. Like he didn't, that's how people get killed though. Yeah. You know what I mean? You fall down and nobody notices and you. Well, people were noticing because if one person fell down, it was like a dominoes kind of situation. Because you're packing so tight. Because there were so many people. Everyone was leaning on each other. Pretty much. Involuntarily to stand up. Pretty much. Yeah.

[00:56:40] The last time I went to Blues Fest was I, I went and saw, I didn't, well, I went as a favor. I'll say that. Um, for Mumford and Sons. I'm not, I'm not a massive fan of like the full band thing. Wow. Yeah. That was my ankles the day after. It was, it was not, uh, not good. That's brutal. Yeah. It looks like someone took like a stick to your. That's what I mean. Like you were beaten.

[00:57:09] That was just by getting stepped on. That's crazy. Yeah. Well, don't do that. Yeah. Anyways. Yeah. So no Limp Bizkit for me, I fear. Yeah. I'm not going to do it. I can't do it. I can't do it because it will be regardless of what we think, it will be absolutely bananas once it kicks, once it goes. And when they do play like that break stuff or nookie or something, it's going to go crazy. And the people who love Limp Bizkit who are there will have such a good time and I'm so happy for them. Yeah.

[00:57:37] And I'm super happy for myself to hear all about it once it's over. Yeah. And I'm happy for getting to open. It's very good opportunity for them. That is a story that that's an amazing story and I'm super happy for those guys. Well, cause I think it was maybe two, three years ago, something like that. They did like an April Fool's prank where they like said that they were opening for Limp Bizkit. Well, it's not so pranky anymore, is it?

[00:58:05] They have a tradition of like pretending they're opening for different bands on April Fool's and one of them was Limp Bizkit. Like the most recent one was Turnstile, which was kind of rude of them because that would have been fun. Oh, okay. But, um, um, before I, before I'm, well. They manifested it. Yeah. Well, when they were on the podcast like years ago, I didn't even know them. Um, and that's what they're saying. Like we did, it was, it was like during the end of COVID.

[00:58:32] So it was still like on, it was on video, like on the internet. And the three of them just sat there and talked about Limp Bizkit and how big Limp Bizkit fans they were. And I was like, okay, okay. And here it is. Yeah. So awesome for them. I wonder where on the stage, like what the timeline is like, you know how there's a whole bunch of different, like, are they like, I have the schedule up. Are they like, they're like opening opening because Cypress Hill is also playing that day. Oh, which is also so cool. Yeah.

[00:59:02] It's not like a one in the afternoon and Limp Bizkit's playing on a completely different stage. No, no. They're like directly opening for them. That's fucking nuts, man. Yeah. Oh, I'm still on the city folk website. Now, if, uh, the guys in fifth could get me a backstage pass where I could stand on the side of the stage. Yeah. There we go. Wink, wink, wink.
